On June 4th at Blackwell’s in Oxford, I’ll be in conversation with journalist Nastaran Tavakoli-Far about my new book Don’t Talk About Politics. We’ll explore why arguments rarely change minds—and what actually does. Drawing on research from psychology, sociology, and political theory, I argue that building democratic resilience today requires more than just better rhetoric: it means creating stronger relationships, new social infrastructure, and shared experiences that shift how people see the world. This event, part of the Women on Women series, will ask how we can move beyond debate to build the foundations of a saner, more just political life.
