At Climate Creatives 2024, I had the pleasure of sharing a talk on why so much of what we think we know about human behaviour comes from W.E.I.R.D. (Western, Educated, Industrialised, Rich, Democratic) populations—and why that matters for climate storytelling. It was exciting to connect with fellow creatives and researchers who are rethinking how we engage people emotionally and culturally in the climate conversation. From the main stage to the regional sessions, one thing was clear: diverse perspectives, deep connections with nature, and powerful conversations are shaping a more inclusive, compelling climate narrative.
